The CIL Immunizes Over 250 People with the COVID-19 Vaccination

“So proud of my staff…Today over 250 people got the [COVID-19 vaccine],” tweeted Stuart James, our Executive Director.

We hosted a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services on Monday, February 22, from 9 AM to 4 PM behind the Ed Roberts Campus in the Ashby BART Station Parking Lot.

A group of people sitting at a table with a person wearing a face mask.
A group of people sitting in chairs on a sidewalk.

A community member emailed after her vaccine: “[The clinic] was so well organized, and everyone with whom I interacted was courteous and professional. Today was just fantastic.”

We vaccinated folks 65 and older and essential workers in the education, childcare, healthcare, agriculture, and food industry in Alameda County.

We recognize that people with disabilities and health conditions under 65 will not be eligible for the vaccine until March 15th. That is too long of a wait for many people with disabilities who are at high risk. We hope to host another clinic after that date if given the opportunity.

Thank you to CalOES, FEMA, and Cal Fire for your support
