Oakley Rae Phoenix is a Black mixed-race gender doula, author, choreographer, and fiber artist living on the autism spectrum with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Phoenix has their Bachelor’s in Women’s and Gender Studies along with more than a decade’s worth of experience advocating for their Black and brown queer, disabled, neurodivergent, and low-to-no income community. When they aren’t knee deep in a new artistic endeavor, you can find Oakley spending time with their loved ones, reading a good book out at Lake Merritt, or stimming wildly in the woods. They’re honored to be joining the CIL team during Disability Pride Month.
