I was born and raised in Berkeley and attended Berkeley City College before transferring to UC Santa Cruz where I earned a degree in Psychology. At UCSC I worked as a student employee connecting other disabled students to accommodations and became involved with advocacy work. I have functional neurological disorder (FND) and navigate public transit as a mobility aid user daily. Nothing brings me more joy than connecting with other disabled people, and I am honored to be working at the CIL!
How did you get involved with the Independent Living Movement?
I learned about the Independent Living Movement in college when I was beginning to explore my disabled identity and was educating myself on disability history and movements.
