Jillian Gibbons is the Independent Living Services Program Manager at the Center for Independent Living (CIL). Born and raised in Oakland, California, she attended the Peralta Community College District before beginning a career dedicated to supporting people with disabilities and individuals in recovery. Over the years, Jillian has worked in substance use recovery, supported living services, independent living services, and case management, helping individuals access resources and build greater independence within their communities.

Jillian joined CIL in 2022 as a Community Independent Living Specialist. Through her dedication to the Independent Living philosophy and commitment to serving the disability community, she advanced to leadership roles as a coordinator and now serves as Program Manager, overseeing multiple programs that promote community living, self-determination, and equitable access.

As a person with lived experience of disability, Jillian is passionate about empowering people to make informed choices and advocating for accessible, inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Outside of work, Jillian enjoys gardening, exploring new places and adventures, spending time with friends and family, and being a proud husky mom to her dog, Purdy.
