Joni Walsh

Medical Advocate

Joni is an immunocompromised person in pursuit of collective liberation and joy for all disabled people. She has a B.A. in Psychology and a background in disability justice work. Most recently, Joni worked on Senior and Disability Actions’s pandemic justice campaign, Masks for Equity. There, she pushed back against public health policies and social misperceptions that allowed for unmitigated COVID spread and exacerbated structural inequalities.

As someone with a long-term chronic illness, Joni has direct experience navigating the medical system. She’s passionate about supporting others who are facing barriers to treatment, and she works with them to fight for safer, more accessible healthcare.
